Marie Ramirez Downing
Voice, Text, and Dialect Coach, Educator, Director, and Actor

Marie is a member of the California State University (CSU) Summer Arts Council where she advises on location of the festival, curricular matters, and overal artistic vision for the program. Marie is also a faculty coordinator of courses. In the last 5 years, Marie has successfully created 4 courses that have went before a curriculum committee of professors in the field of acting and have accepted her proposals as relevant to the future of theatre and performance. Marie hires prominent professioanal actors, directors, and educators all over the world to teach in her created courses. She teaches and sometimes performs alongside them.
2019: Theatre and Social Change: Politcs, Performance and Vocal Power

Guest Artists Brent Blair Theatre of The Oppressed Practionor, Natsuko Ohama Linklater Voice Teacher, Sheila Bandyopadhyay, Movement Specialist, and Indira Pensado, Actor and Linklater Voice Teacher from Mexico City created and supported students in Forum and Image Theate Creation.






Two Public Events Produced: Natsuko Ohama's one woman play: Geisha of the Gilded Age-Miyuki Morgan, and Indira Pensado's one woman show Crastchep.
